20252-channel video installation · projection on plastic membrane · blob tracking algorithmExhibited at Div.fuse 2026, argos Centre for Audiovisual Arts, Brussels
Some things refuse to be processed. What Escapes sits within a practice obsessed with resisting capture, datafication and demand. Lake water projected onto an undulating membrane becomes matter, breathing, refusing to stay flat. Two dragonflies, filmed in a stream, move through blob-tracking rectangles that keep losing them. When the algorithm fails, the image inverts, glitches, breaks.
The dragonfly has existed for 300 million years, moving between water and air with evolutionary precision. The blob tracker was not ready for it.
